why ask yourself

So you are finally finished writing your guest article and want it to be published on a blog in your niche, but the question is

Which blog, there are a million top blogs which write on the same topic as you do

You submit the post on any top blog; say the best blog in your niche

Will your post be approved?

By the end of this short post I guess you will be able to get your post published on a giant blog

If you don’t build your dreams yourself, someone will hire you to help them build theirs

Why do you write articles for others?

That’s not a question to be answered as you already know the reasons and benefits of guest posting, backlinks, relations and all that stuff.

No matter your favorite reason to write a guest post, whether backlinks or relations but the only thing which the site owner will consider is

Is the article providing some value to the readers?

I will not discuss it under the blog owner’s point of view; we will look at it from the author’s point of view.

But before that, read my words

I have written many guest posts since I started blogging.

I have been taught whenever you plan to guest post on a blog then

Shoot for the stars

Always aim for the best blog and maintain your article quality according to it because the better the blog the better benefits you will have in terms of SEO and relations

But

How can you get your post approved on the top blog?

You might find this question answered on many blogs, so without repeating all those learnt lessons I want to share with you a simple technique because of which my guest post rejection rate has reached near zero

Yes, near to zero

My guest posts were also rejected, there’s nothing to be demotivated

Remember the quote

Every king was once a crying baby, I was also a beginner guys

For your kind information, I am also a contributor to one of my country’s top blogs, ShoutMeLoud

Ok now answer my question.

Honestly!

When you are deciding the blog to write for, the question you ask yourself is

Is that blog worth my hard work?

Right?

Come on accept that, you did and most of you still do

Not only you; many bloggers do the same mistake

Honestly, I was also one them in my initial days

You might find the below words quite hurting but it is the truth, the bitter truth

This is the first step towards getting your post rejected on a top blog

Now remember, never ask yourself while guest posting for a top blog

Is that blog worth my hard work?

Why?

Simple,

The blog where you are going to guest post has been there for a long time.

you a beginner, want to write for it?

I am not saying you can’t but what matters the most is your article providing some value to that blog’s readers

So, what should you do then?

Simple, ask yourself the opposite question

Are you worth that blog?

Yes, don’t think what the owner will decide after reading your post but what matter is self confidence

I am not saying if you are not good at writing you will not be able to guest post on a top blog, what I want to say is that you should know that is your writing style and experience enough to provide value to the blog’s readers

After all what matters the most in guest posting is relations with other bloggers and their readers

Backlinks are secondary

Mind my words, backlinks don’t matter
Because with time you PR may decrease but the impact you make on the readers will always increase
(I’ll do another post discussing on the above topic later)

You think that post you have written is really good and can be posted on that top blog then don’t think a lot

Just submit it; my best wishes are with you, always

By a good post, I don’t mean your post should be over 1000 words.

No matter the length of your post, the only question which matters the most is

Is your post worth that blog?

Always keep the blog superior to your post, that’s the way I find to get your post approved on a top blog.

Must Read :Effective and free Website Promotion Ideas and Techniques

Over to you

Ok so I know it was a small post but you know what you need to do.

The philosophy behind this simple technique is when you keep the blog superior than your post then you try to give your best guest post and that’s what people need in this era of tough competition,

Your best piece

What if your post still gets rejected?

First of all it will not happen if you follow the tip by your whole head and heart but if it does then don’t worry

Because if it doesn’t work out, you wrote something really cool

    • Hi Shiwangi

Thanks, but it is to be seen that the traffic you are going to get from guest posts will not be too huge even if you post on a top blog

what would make the difference is you name, the more they will see your name on such blogs the more your reputation will increase

      Thanks for commenting

  4. Hey Nishant great post, I also write many guest post and many time was rejected, but I never get disappointed because everyone don’t think alike. If one is rejecting then that is his bad luck of loosing a good post – I believe that and move on to next. But I do follow the necessary tips required for guest post.

  5. To get your post approved it is like a lottery… 1 chance out of ten. Seriously. Maybe I’m not the greatest writer but my posts were never approved and I gave up this idea.

  6. Good informative post dude…….. its true that many people get disappointed after the rejection of guest post but it should not be a issue. They can use it for they site or even try with other sites………

  7. the only question I ll ask myself is “do the content I submit to the blog is up to the blog’s PR/influence level?” if I am sure that the content I am submitting is top notch then simply I ll go ahead and I enjoy over 95% success ratio and my guest posts are being published.

  8. Well said Nishant Arora!

Totally agree with you what you are concluding about the guest posts.

Yeah, I wrote many guest posts, but it s all for my renowned blog owners who provided their great help for me to do better blogging.

Will appear as a guest blogger in some popular niches soon. Hope it is a timely post for me to work well with my guest posts.

  9. hello Nishant Arora!
I am totally agree with you what you are concluding about the guest posts.
I wanted to write guest posts, BUt after reading this post ,i am definately going to write a guest post from today and thanks.

  10. Great article! You have written about everything that is related to guest writing on top blog. But, I have questions for you: How do you define a top blog? And why guest post at a top blog?

As a blogger, I don’t believe in guest posting at top blogs (if you define top blogs as one of those blogs that are well known and show up in the first page of Google. And most of those bloggers started out with blogging pretty early), unless you are targeting new bloggers.

These top blogs – in terms of audience – (from what I have seen), most of the audience compromises of new bloggers.

The original authors of the blog don’t post anymore (well, they post, rarely). Instead, the blog is full of guest posts (that’s a reason why I don’t read those blogs. Of course, there are a few good posts that are written by experienced folks – but, others are useless, or advice that I have already read or learned).

I believe in guest posting at medium sized blogs (like Basic blog tips – mainly because my target audience is established bloggers), were audience is established bloggers – bloggers who have blogged for a while and understand the importance of each small action in blogging.

Of course, if you are targeting established bloggers (or looking for instant traffic or boost), do guest post at top blogs ;)
